Communicates with clients, peers and superiors via verbal and written communications.
Written communications to the client will be streamed through the Project Manager.
Is responsible for personal safety record; knows, understands and complies with all
project/site safety requirements without compromise.
Wears appropriate levels of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the site conditions and Health & Safety Plan (HASP) without compromise.
Uses computer-based maintenance management program as part of workday; prepares basic reports and communications using computer programs
Operates, inspects, adjusts and monitors process equipment, meters, gauges and controls in accordance with O&M Manual; is able to detect and define problems/malfunctions and maintain proper level of equipment operation and system performance.
Records operational date, meter and gauge readings on specified forms.
Collects process samples for certified outside laboratory analysis; completing labeling and chain-of custody records with attention to accuracy.
Collects and conducts on-site process sampling and wet chemistry testing on water,
wastewater and industrial wastewater samples as required.
Performs process calculations required for the proper operation of equipment, including but not limited to: chemical dosage rates; biological loading, clarifier operation, sludge generation, and wasting rates.
Mixes, lifts and maintains process chemicals such as potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, caustic, acid, hydrochloric acid, organ sulfate, polymer and coagulant using mixers, pumps and metering devices.
Communicates directly with the Field Service Manager and/or Project Manager daily to report completed and planned maintenance, observations with process equipment,
changes in meter and gauge readings, results of process sampling, and adjustments to
process set points and feed rates.
Maintains consistent production quality and work records.
Responds to alarms for emergency situations at various facilities/systems and is available for rotating on call requirements. Off-hours coverage and reliability may be required on a rotating basis. Position may require some weekend and off hours operating coverage.
Performs preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools and/or precision
equipment in accordance with O&M guidelines and requirements.
Perform administrative duties including completion of job tickets, log books, and weekly report.
Job Requirements:
Possesses at least a Grade 1 Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operators license from the designated state within 2 years of employment date.
Ability to coordinate with Management and Engineering regularly and to execute
procedures and directions as required.
Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures.
Ability to identify and report problems and abnormalities in the receiving waste stream and the treatment process.
Ability to perform laboratory analyses in accordance with site specific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ability to evaluate and operate equipment, meters and gauges
Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance to pumps, pipelines, valves, and simple process equipment.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and email programs.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra commonly used in wastewater treatment
industry.
Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts and be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
Must provide their own transportation to and from the work-site.
Must be flexible to work 8-12-hour shifts, including daytime and graveyard shift rotation.
Requires at least 3 years working experience in plant operations required.

Good working knowledge of physical, chemical and biological treatment processes
Has 40 hour HAZWOPER certificate and 8- hour annual refresher certificate
